Inspired by the Oregon thread below: how hard is it to get publishing work in Glasgow?

Depends. What sort of work do you do? There are five national newspapers, three city-wide papers and nine Scottish offices of London papers here, so there's plenty of newspaper work. There are a few book publishing houses, plenty of magazines and a smattering of online ventures.

Copyediting & production. I've done de-Anglicization & Canadian copyediting, so I don't think the differences in Englishes would trip me up.

And amberglow, thanks for the link, but I never trust classifieds. The Times doesn't really paint an accurate picture of the NYC job market, and some companies post elsewhere, while others post ads for jobs that are full because technically they have to.
