Recommendations for jazz compilations similar to this one (dinner at eight)?

I totally love this compilation, oddly enough a Pottery Barn compilation called 'Dinner at Eight', and would love to hear suggestions for anything similar. I don't really want to go hunt down albums by all the different artists and pick out the good songs (although I probably will end up doing that eventually anyways).

I know I am not directly answering your question by giving you a list of songs, but you might have some luck by firing up iTunes, going to the iTunes Music Store and searching for a few of these songs. Then either find what other people who liked this bought or check out the iMixes which contain your song to see what else they have.

Geez, nnk, that soundtrack is so good I may buy it myself!

And let me add: ANYTHING by Ella + Louis (Fitzgerald & Armstrong). They put out a series of records for a short while together, which are 100% golden treasures.

The Ella and Louis collaborations are indeed sublime. You can get a sampler, but I'd recommend getting them all.
