How to get a package somewhere

Please tell me how to mail a package to someone with no fixed address? Would a hotel in the area, or a USPS location accept delivery for them and keep item for them till pick up? Thanks.

They can rent a PO box, or a box at a local Mailboxes Etc or similar business. Send it there.

Unless he has a friend, I highly doubt a hotel would accept a package from someone who is not staying there.

UPS and FedEx have "hold at location" services.

Probably very convenient in larger metro areas.

gjc and sevenyearlurk have it. General Delivery is the cheap option, of course. You just have to be sure and send it to the right post office and send them to the right post office.

Sounds like sevenyearlurk's suggestion is a good one. Here's General Delivery info for the United States.
General Delivery is a great choice for you if carrier service or a PO Box is not an option. Your mail will be held at your Main Post Office for up to 30 days and can be conveniently picked up at any retail window. This is also a great option if you don’t have a permanent address. To find your Main Post Office, please contact your local Postmaster.

nthing general delivery. A couple times I've been on vacation and needed something mailed to me. Works like a charm.
