Question: What's the rock band seen briefly in the documentary Lake of Fire?

What's the rock band seen briefly in the documentary Lake of Fire?

Their appearance in the film is a little on the random side, and (unless I missed something) at no point does the film bother to tell you who they are. I'm curious if they're actually culty or something and just not on my radar, or what. Sadly, my Google-Fu is weak this evening, and IMDB is seemingly clueless.

I have never seen this movie. However, the Meat Puppets did a song called Lake of Fire (which Nirvana famously covered). Though surely your Google-fu turned them up.

Yeah, it's definitely not the Meat Puppets. Thanks, though.

I watched the brief trailer on IMDB and there's a band playing for exactly one second at 1:24. Topless singer, X's over her nipples in electric tape, woman bassist, hesher-ish looking guitar dude. Is that the band? Because I'm sure someone will recognize them from that image, even at only one second long it's pretty distinct.

Based only on The Straightener's description: the Plasmatics?

It wasn't the Plasmatics but they do have similar theatrics.

kittens for breakfast: I saw Lake of Fire a few weeks ago and thought it was strange that the band name wasn't shown anywhere. Were band members' names even given? It just makes me wonder if this was even a real band.

That would not seem unlikely, but I'm pretty sure they're a more contemporary band (I'm familiar with the Plasmatics by rep, but that's about it). Lake of Fire skips around a lot in time (early '90s to quite recently), though, so could be.

The above to box, obviously...and rokabiri, as far as I could tell, the band was uncredited. I sort of doubt they were thrown together just for the film, but you never know....

Yeah, it's just conjecture but I sort of do think they were thrown together for the film. I'm sure each are 'artists' in their own right but it is really strange not to credit a band, especially since Kaye includes credits for most people interviewed. It feels like their performance was included for shock value and to give voice to the, "I wish I was never born." argument. I have searched the world wide web over and cannot find anything on them. Argh, this is bothering me.
