What's wrong with my face?

I have a lump in my cheek. I had a root canal + crown about a month or so ago and noticed it when feeling my then still numb face. I can only really feel it when I open my mouth all the way, as if yawning. It's not visible, and about the size of a quarter. There's no pain, but it kind of moves a bit if I push on it.(Likes..slides a bit?) I did some research and found lots of stuff about salivary glands, but this seems a bit high up and more towards the front than the diagrams I've seen. Any ideas? I have no issues about going to the doctor, just wondering if anyone had any thoughts.

Possibly not at all relevant, but my son had a similar lump in his cheek when he was born - same size, not visible, moved a bit when pushed.

We had it checked out and the doctor said it was probably a cyst; it disappeared after a few weeks.

I'd advise having it checked out all the same.

See your dentist. I had a root canal that became infected and caused a lump at the intersection if my gum and my cheek. Denial led to an infection that went through my upper palate and infected my sinus. I was unaware the whole time that it was developing, no pain, just some numbness as you have described.

You should have it checked, of course, but don't freak out. I have a cyst on my jaw bone, always have, that sounds exactly like what you described. It's completely benign and not visible. Only time it's ever caused a problem was when I had mono and somehow also contracted a staph infection in/near said cyst. Hurt like hell.

Go to an ENT doctor.

I broke down and went to see my doctor, who said it's a cyst. He's not concerned and said it may go away and it may not, but in his opinion nothing to worry about. Thanks ya'll.
