Parkdale...

Canadian Indie song about Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario. References "dollar stores" and "discount whores" in Parkdale. What is the song title, who is the artist and where can I find it?

I would've guessed "Parkdale" by Metric, but it doesn't have those lyrics in it. (There's a preview here.)

Here's another one that looked hopeful but didn't match the lyrics, "Parkdale" by Elizabeth Shepherd. Full song on Myspace, lyrics here.

Best answer: Is it Parkdale by Run With The Kittens?

Best answer: Yep, Fuzzy Monster found it. The "dollar stores/discount whores" line is in there, right at the end. Here's an MP3 of the song.

I thought it might be the Parkdale Hookers, but alas, no.

I've chanted along with this song at The Cameron House. "...in Parkdale..." "PARKDALE!" Run With The Kittens is a great live band, one of those bands that goes all-out for an audience of five or an audience of 500. If you like Ween, you'll like Run With The Kittens.

Response by poster: Nice thanks everyone. I'll look out for their live shows...."in PARKDALE"!

Ohbijou also has a song (To RIP on Righteous tides) that starts with "Today I daydreamed of being shot left to bleed at a Parkdale Dollarmart".
