I'd like to find a few recommendations on tai chi DVDs that my 3 year old son and I could watch/do together. I'll save the ninja training for later. Maybe 5.

3 is a bit early for Tai Chi. But for beginner workout DVDs, David Carradine (yes, of TV's 'Kung Fu') did a series of DVDs; one for Tai Chi, one for Chi Kung, and one for Kung Fu. The Kung Fu one is doing the stretches and punch/kick movements of Kung Fu slowly, as a low-intensity workout, not any Hai-yah! stuff. I think the best/easiest one for a 3 year old to do would be the Chi Kung one; the Tai-Chi-like movements will be good for you both, without so much of the balance-on-one-foot-move-your-arms-now-turn-around-and-balance-on-the-other-foot that a developing 3 year old might find too difficult. And if not...well, it's a soothing low male voice that might put him to sleep while you get a nice workout in. They're years old by now, so you should be able to find used ones (or check libraries, including inter-library loan) for cheap and try them all?
