Fifteen men on the dead man's chest— Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!

The new MrsPhritosan and I are going to be in the Clearwater/Treasure Island, Florida area June 2 through June 5 for our honeymoon and are looking for things not to be missed. Food, fun, events, shopping, nightlife.

We're not looking to spend bank, but we do have some disposable income to toss around to make it a memorable trip.

Any suggestions?

Ybor City is fun (bit of a drive, but worth it), but I don't know that it's going to be really happening Monday-Thursday (on weekends they make the main drag a pedestrian walkway, and everyone bounces from club to club). Definitely get yourself a cuban sandwich while in town.

Drive over that sky bridge thing over the harbor and scare yourself silly.

Downtown Dunedin is nice.

You may also want to try parasailing over Clearwater Beach- I did it once, and it really was beautiful, although people have gotten hurt or killed doing it and I had to fight to keep visions of plummeting to my death out of my mind.

If upscale shopping is your thing, International Plaza in Tampa could be fun

I apologize for my many comments, things keep coming to mind..

Malls: Citrus Park (a little bit north but new and nice), International Plaza
Beaches: Clearwater Beach (gorgeous), Honeymoon Island (in Dunedin)
Biking/Walking/Skating/Jogging: Pinellas Country Trail (runs north to south Pinellas)
Museums: The Salvador Dali Museum in St Petersburg
Food: The Columbian in the Pier in downtown St Petersburg (gorgeous views)

Afraid theres not much in Clearwater proper cept scientologists...

There are two different pirate ship day cruises nearby (if only because of your title):

If you like a good burger, the Chattaway at St. Pete is nice, especially after a visit to the Dali Museum.
I also think a trip to the Columbia restaurant in Ybor Ciity is worthwhile if you want to head that way. The beaches are gorgeous; have a fabulous time!

Fort DeSoto is an awesome beach/park. Don't miss the Columbian restaurant (I think the one in Ybor is nicer than the St. Pete location - but the St. Pete spot does have awesome views). The Dali museum is definitely worth a visit, too.

I third Honeymoon Island, but take the ferry ride to Caladesi Island while you're there. It was just recently announced as America's top beach by Dr. Beach.
