What is a fair price for a vintage Fendi bag?

My girlfriend fell in love with a vintage Fendi bag in a consignment shop the other day. I have no guarantee whether or not it is counterfeit; it does not appear to be. It is in good/new condition.

What is a fair price for this bag? I believe the tag said $140. I do not know whether this is negotiable.

Need more info. Style? How old?
True vintage Fendi can be in the thousands of dollars. Look around on eBay.

Well, here is what is on ebay right now. Is it like any of those?
How big is the bag? What is the material?
If it is a medium-sized leather purse, I think that $140 is a fair price (even a bargain).
But it depends on the style, etc.

Response by poster: The material was either canvas I believe. The pattern looked like this but darker, and the bag I saw in the store didn't have the tan leather components. The shape was about similar.

Response by poster: Excuse me, either canvas or leather. I believe it was canvas though.

I do not know whether this is negotiable.

In most consignment shops, the prices are negotiable (within reason) unless the person who consigned the item has instructed the proprietor on a "firm" price.

How old? If it's real then I'd say $140 is pretty good business regardless.

Hmm, my wife looks at these things all the time at Nordstrom and I've never seen anything with Fendi written on it that cheap.

Basically, it all depends on what it is worth to you. It's not an investment.

At that price and in that pattern, there's a fair possibility that its fake. That's one of the more copied Fendi patterns. However, its impossible to say without examining it up close. Look for the little details. Real designer bags have the little niceties, an imprinted zipper, for example. The pattern should be exactly lined up where it meets at the seams, etc. If you believe that it is real, or at least has enough of the little stuff right to convince you it might be, then I would say $140 is a fine price. If its missing these little details, then it all depends on how much your girlfriend likes it!
