Deli Delivery in Los Angeles

I'm looking for a good deli that delivers in Los Angeles, Beachwood Canyon to be precise. I need a website or very patient people.

My boyfriend is getting home from an overseas trip on Thursday, which happens to be his birthday. I'd like to organise a hamper of tasty foodstuffs to be delivered to him, as I know he hates shopping and is certain to have absolutely nothing in the fridge.

Complicating factors are that I am in another country (Australia) so I have to be able to order it over the web, or be able to talk to them on the phone and have them be very patient with me. Also, he is picky. It has to be fairly healthy but also gourmet.

Any LA mefites have suggestions for where I can get something delivered to him? The only LA deli I am familiar with is Greenblatt's on Sunset, which seems to deliver but I can't find a website for them.

Best answer: Zingerman's Deli isn't local to LA, but I've had very good luck ordering their food for delivery. Haven't dealt with them on the phone, but a friend has and said they're very friendly.

Not delis but geared towards online sales are Pinkdot and Dr. Soda. Thought I'd mention them in case all other options fall through.

Here you go: Jerry's Famous Deli. They deliver and have online ordering. They are also quite good. Hope it helps.

Try Canter's Deli, also. Slightly more foodie than Jerry's, which is also great. Try Canter's pastrami.

If you need Greenblatt's phone number, it's here; no help on the menu, though.

Apparently the deli counter was run separately and is now closed, but Victor's website says they will deliver.

Brent's (in Northridge and Westlake Village) delivers and has amazing deli. I would go with them over Jerry's any day.

Response by poster: Thanks heaps for the responses. Zingerman's was closest to being what I was after, and has some awesome gift baskets. Tapas mix set ordered that will hopefully arrive on time!
