Web-journal about working in a porn store.

A friend was telling me about a very well written web-journal about a woman working in a video-porn shop. Where can I find this?

The woman was working there to get through grad school. It was apparently quite interesting and well written. The friend first saw it in 2003 and she had already quit the job and stopped updating by this point. It may or may not have pre-dated the term "blog." That's all the info I have at the moment.

Best answer: True Porn Clerk Stories. Some really memorable details in there.

A true classic. "We all abuse the hand sanitizer."

Seconding "We all abuse the hand sanitizer". I would google it for you now, but I'm at work.

I'd like to chime in and say that as a former video store clerk, that true porn clerk stories has made my day, a number of times, over a number of years.

Because virtually every one of those stories could've (or did) happen in my store, too.

And yes. Hand sanitizer.

This thread from just a couple days ago mentions it, which is why I know it. It's certainly worth your while (as is the site mentioned in the initial post--haven't had time to read through the other suggestions there yet though). In addition to being an interesting insight into porn addicts, I thought it was a great summary of the world of retail work in general.

Another blog you might be interested in is "Tales of the Boobie Bar", found here on LiveJournal, chronicling the work of a stripdancer. She's got an excellent sense of humour.

Incidentally, there just happens to be a fairly recent interview with the author Ali Davis over at Huffington Post. She's doing what looks to be a pretty weird podcast that I think I may have to check out...
