Is there any version of the Search marker Firefox extension for 3.0?

Search Marker is no longer maintained. Does anybody know if a similar extension that is still alive?

As this extension is not compatible with Firefox, I have three options :
1. stop using it
2. hack it so that Firefox thinks it is compatible with 3.0 (I have no idea if that's going to work or not)
3. get a replacement

I was wondering if the Metafilter crowd could help with #3!

Thank you.

This article tells you how to make older add-ons work with Firefox 3.0. (Just add a string to about:config) I found it on Slashdot this morning.

Hope it helps.

I should mention that the article warns of potential browser instability but it might be worth a shot as a stopgap measure.

Firefox Add-Ons are just zip files. Unzip the .xpi file, open up install.rdf in a text editor and change the maxVersion from 2.0.0.* to 3.0.0.*. (Or whatever version you choose), then re-zip and install.

For your information, the extension does not work on 3.0, even if we force the version inside the xpi file : it installs fine, but nothing happens when I click "highlight all"

Great news, version 1.0.5 is out and supports 3.0. And the markers are now clickable, yeah!
