Trust me, there is no such thing. Even the ones who are run by *actual* pharmacists are completely unregulated and are allowed to do anything, including selling you the wrong meds, expired meds, etc. That is not the type of drug (a stimulant) that you want to be monkeying around with. If you are interested in off-label uses you are further risking yourself.
I have worked in medical regulation and can tell you the calls of complaints about overdoses/ errors/ harmful complications from online meds is high, but since they answer to no one, people who have had bad experiences are sent away with no higher authority to appeal to. What you receive is very likely not to be what it is promised. posted by SassHat at 9:16 PM on May 15, 2008
This is what I use. I am in the U.S., but they also ship to Canada. Adrafinil. posted by KoobieKitten at 9:18 PM on May 15, 2008
Sorry to derail, but SassHat, are you referring to online pharmacies that provide the prescription as well as the meds (or meds sans prescription) or are you referring to online pharmacies that require customers to send in a written prescription? posted by needs more cowbell at 10:39 PM on May 15, 2008
Yeah the online pharmacy's are shady. Also, please be careful with provigil, this stuff is very hardcore speed that the Airforce uses to keep pilots up and "alert" for days on end with no sleep. The scary thing about it is that nobody knows why it does what it does since it doesnt technically contain amphetamines. Good luck! posted by Hellafiles at 7:04 AM on May 16, 2008
You probably won't be able to get modafinil (the drug marketed as Provigil and Alertec) delivered in Canada - it's a prescription product and subject to seizure at the border.
KoobieKitten's link is probably your best bet. Adrafinil metabolizes into modafinil, but there may be other side effects. posted by lowlife at 7:04 AM on May 16, 2008
