Where can I buy Euthymol in Oxford? I could buy it in Morrisons in Manchester, but it doesn't seem to have made its way down South. I'm finding it hard to go back to mint-flavoured toothpaste!

I never had any trouble finding it in the big supermarkets (Sainsbury's etc.) in the south or even in Boots. It's usually hidden amongst the smokers toothpastes.

I truly don't mean to hijack your thread, but I wanted to ask you, since the Wikipedia article mentions it is useful in the prevention of mouth ulcers (which I believe are the same as canker sores? Not to be confused with cold sores)...

Is that why you're using it? And is it effective?

Did you try Boswell's, at the corner of Cornmarket & Broad Street? That's a pretty eclectic chemist.
Or, if you head north from there towards Jericho along Woodstock Road, there's another chemists just past the old Radcliffe infirmary, which is also independent.

You're not the only one to note its sudden absence from supermarket shelves: a friend was complaining last week that she couldn't find it anywhere in Brighton. Small chemists (perhaps the ones on Woodstock Road or Cowley Road) or online might be your best option, or if you can make it out to the ring road Tesco. But I hope it's not being withdrawn...

(Note for Americans: Euthymol is Pepto-Bismol pink and tastes of wintergreen and antiseptic.)

Following up Flashman, I think he means the Ten O'Clock Pharmacy, which is independent and more likely to stock eclectic items than the Lloyds on the corner of Little Clarendon Street.

And yeah, Boswell's, which I always forget about, and is old-fashioned enough to keep it in stock.

Oxford-dwelling Euthymol fan here. I have bought Euthymol in Boots on Cornmarket. Job done.

Alternatively, I have ordered it from Tesco for home delivery. Would be surprised if Tesco on Cowley Road don't have it, but I've orded it from Tesco.com for home delivery if you can't get into town.

And having lived twenty yards from the Ten O'Clock for most of twenties, I don't think I've ever seen it in there. It's an independent chemist, sure, but it's pretty small.

@ caek: Hmm, I'll take another look in Boots. But Tesco online might be the best bet (the Cowley Road store doesn't seem to have it either).

@ holgate: You can get toothpaste on Amazon? I too hope it's not being withdrawn: maybe this happened at the same time I moved to Oxford, making me think it just wasn't sold anywhere.
