Can you please help me find a working script (CMS) that will allow easy implementation of a gallery & the ability to post Youtube videos.

I've wasted the past 4 days trying to get Joomla 1.5 to play nice with a RS2gallery module but that was a dead end. After Joomla I tried Wordpress (newest version) but quickly got frustrated due to its errors.

For example, on a fresh install of Wordpress, the categories and tags do not work, they go to a 404 page even though there is content within the category. No one on the Wordpress forums has any clue why that is so, they suggested that plugins might be the issue but the only plugin I have is Akismet.

Is it possible that a working script exists that will allow two simple things; a gallery of photos and youtube posts.

Can you post links to your questions on the WP forums?

a couple possibilities:
1. sounds like your htaccess is fuxxored. If you've reset the 'link' naming scheme but did not add the lines to your htaccess, they won't properly redirect.

2. additionally, wordpress shows a 404 if there is no PUBLISHED content within the category. Make sure you've published the pages.

that's all i can think of offhand; if you have a link to your site people can probably offer further advice.

I can't really think of another self-hosted CMS that's easier to use than wordpress, so it's in your interest to take another shot at getting it working.

Drupal does this, easy as pie. And by pie, I mean this screencast.
