Where to get the Best Shawarma in Toronto?

Preferably downtown but I can travel.
Shawarma here kind of sucks, Ottawa and Montreal have much better shawarma. I went to this place in Ottawa and had the most delicious shawarma ever. The meat was succulent and deliciously spiced, the vegetables fresh. The tahini wasn't watered down, the hot sauce delicious and the garlic sauce divine. Then they put it under one of those sandwich press things and made the pita all crunchy and everything warm.

So where is the best place in Toronto? I have found places with some of these elements but not all. I've tried nearly 10 different places over the years but none approached sharwarma nirvana. Where is the burrito boyz of shawarma?

The eternal quest. I too try to find the best place and find a lot of very good places but not any single one that rises above all else. It's kind of hard to compare sometimes because you want to go for a different taste at different times, but a couple of my favourites:

Falafel House, on Yonge just south of Bloor. When I worked in that hood it was a constant favourite. For more greasy fare, Falafel Queen on Queen and Bathurst is (or was, it's been a long time since I've been there) pretty good. Another local favourite is A La Turque, on Church just north of Wellesley. I used to really like Naz's on John St, but they don't seem the same anymore.

Beyond those it's really just hit or miss and I haven't found any one place that really stands out. At least, not in the downtown core (various magazines say that the best shwarmas are to be found on Lawrence St.) See also

My vote would have to go for A La Turque on Church... love them.
