Blank capsules of embroidered cellophane!

ComputerEmbroideryFilter: Can you recommend some small-time (<=$300 range) for a home hobbyist to embroider shirts and ball caps and whatnot?

Can you recommend some embroidery software that you've used personally and are happy with? It must output DST format (which my machine reads) and preferably import (and digitize) bitmaps, although the bitmap thing isn't a hard requirement.

I'm looking at a few packages in the $300 range (BuzzEdit, Embroidery Magic 2) but I'm wondering if there's anything out there I haven't discovered (as is the case with so many other things on MeFi). Thanks so much in advance!

my wife uses ebay to have people digitize things she wants to embroider . costs about $10 per, and they will do multiple revisions
