I'm asking on behalf of a friend who wants to print up some more materials for her salon, but hasn't had any luck finding the same font used for the sign. Any ideas? Already tried identifont.com without success. The sign in question is here.

Looks hand-made to me. All the lower case "a" letters are pretty different, for example.

It's Storybook. We use it for the store where I work. I often mimic it for our chalkboard - it's a tricky one, especially that letter k. You can find it here: http://www.dafont.com/storybook.font

Well, as far as I can tell, Storybook and Praetorian look identical -- but Storybook is a free download, while MyFonts charges $49 for Praetorian... huh.

There are some small differences in character shapes between the two. This face looks like one of those ninteenth-century fonts reproduced in Dover Press clip-art books; there have been many "rivivals" scanned and traced from Dover publications.

The commercial version has a larger character set and appears to have better character fitting / kerning.
