How can I get Firefox to stop opening new windows maximized?

I'm using Firefox 3 beta 5 on Mac OS X Leopard (if it makes a difference). Whenever I start Firefox, or open new windows if it's already running, it opens maximized, which isn't the way I like it so I have to resize it each time. Is there a way to get it to automatically open new windows at the same size as the current window, or the same size as the last open window if it's being opened for the first time?

resize it how you like it, close the window. Next time you open it it should be like the resized version. I am on XP, but i assume it works the same.

Doesn't seem to work on the mac. I got used to firefox on a PC and miss that feature.

Are you actually quitting out of the program, or just closing the window? That might make a difference.

Yeah, quitting out seems to make it work, although I'm using Firefox 2, not 3.

I've tried quitting out and closing the window, and both result in a maximized window.

Under linux, with FF3 beta 5, new instances of firefox will start however it last closed. I wonder if there's a setting in OSX that you'd have to mess with to make this work.

As it's a beta, I think you should assume it's a bug, and possibly even submit it to Bugzilla.

It's not mentioned in the Release Notes. But on the other hand, it does say "If you encounter strange problems relating to bookmarks, downloads, window placement, toolbars, history, or other settings, it is recommended that you try creating a new profile and attempting to reproduce the problem before filing bugs." Emphasis mine.

"The answer for this question is to click Window>Zoom" says someone emailing me to answer.
