Locked Myself Out Of XAMPP !! - Mac OS X

I installed XAMPP on my laptop a while ago and just got around to configuring it. The only problem is that when I enter http://localhost/xampp/splash.php into my browser I'm prompted for a user name and password, which of course I've managed to forget. Anyone out there know how I can remedy this? I'm running OS X 10.5

Have you tried deleting the xampp.users and .htaccess files? (xampp\security\xampp.users xampp\htdocs\xampp\.htaccess)

Response by poster: Haven't tried that, I'll give it a shot.

Response by poster: I tried deleting the user file and I still get the "authorization required" message.

Best answer: Have you tried "root" with no password?
