Are you as frustrated as I am about increasing blog readership?

I work with a group of scientists in Cambridge, MA, USA and we have been studying the Blogsphere, it's effectiveness, and potential solutions to help bloggers easily and automatically get additional readership and potentially monetize their blogs. If you blog, would you be so kind as to answer 8 questions? We would love to hear you comments. The questions are in the extended portion of this posting. (click More Inside)

The survey questions are below or answer online at:

GlowPost Survey online

------------ Survey Questions ----------------------

1. How long have you been blogging?

2. Why did you decide to blog? (for fun, for profit, to market products/services, to become a subject matter expert in your field, for personal reasons, other)

3. Are you seriously trying to generate money through blogging?

4. How do you feel about your blogs growth in readership or would you like more? (happy, unhappy, frustrated, content, other)

5. What actions have you taken to increase your readership?
(examples: newsletters, social networking, rss feeds, trackbacks, blog commenting, Google Adwords, advertising, other etc)

6. If your blog readership did not increase sufficiently in the next year, will you stop blogging?

7. If a service existed that automatically brought new readers to your blog who were interested in your content without requiring any additional effort on your part, would you this be of value to you?

8. What value would you place on it (i.e what would you be willing to pay monthly to increased your readership) (values $0, $1 to $5, $5 to $10, $10 to $15, more)

------------------- end of survey ---------------------------------

If you would like to hear more about this project as it comes to fruition, feel free to send an email to "info at cambridgerad dot com" and we will keep you posted.

Thank you,
Ken

You haven't been studying the blogosphere long enough to recognize that this is not what Ask Metafilter is for.
