Biology 'Refresher?

Good way to get 'refreshed' on Biology? I took 1st year BIO 8 years ago. I'm taking the second semester this summer and don't want to be completely lost. What are some good ways (whether online, dvd, book, etc) to get this done? I'll probably go to a Bio 1 class and pick up the syllabus, but would like some suggestions. I'll have about 6 weeks to do the 'refresh'

Best answer: MIT's Open Courses section on Biology features several semesters worth of audio and video.

For free.

You'll have to give more detail about the sort of biology you'll be studying.

Assuming this is an intro college course for non-majors, you really can't go wrong with Campbell and Reese. Any reasonably modern edition will do since in six weeks you won't have time to get to such detail that the revisions will matter.

Is the second semester offered now? What would really help is to get a copy of that syllabus, start reading the relevant chapters in Campbell or your source of choice, and then go back as necessary to understand them.

I haven't tried this Teaching Company course on Biology: The Science of Life (yet), but I have faith in them in general.
