Want AVG 7.5 back!!!

Looking for AVG Antivirus 7.5 freeware. I just installed 8.0 and I want to go back!

After upgrading to Grisoft AVG 8.0 I decided I didn't like it: It's not user friendly and does way more than I want. I'd love to go back to the old version (7.5) but I had to uninstall it and I no longer have the installation files. I looked but I can't find version 7.5 anywhere. Can anyone help?

Filehippo.com has old versions of software, including AVG Antivirus!

oldversion.com is a standby for this sort of thing.

After looking at the Filehippo site, the versions of AVG Anti-Spyware available appear to be the professional bloated versions. I'm not sure, though. I'll keep looking. Thanks.

Be careful: They're stopping updates on 7.5 on May 31.

Having old AV software is basically the same as having no AV software.

Personally, I'm in the no AV camp.

There is a time and a place for antivirus. I have ClamAV installed to manually scan things that I downloaded from .. less than authentic... sources, and I have a question about.

On second thought, email won't be the best way to handle this. Anyone know where I can drop a 32MB file so that y'all can pull it?

I have AVG Free 7.5.516 updated Jan 2008.

Ok, here's the file:

AVG Free 7.5.516

I forgot to put "Free" in the file's name, but it really is the free version, I promise.

~32MB.

If the link doesn't work you could try switching to Avast, I made the switch from AVG due to the 8 upgrade seeming to be Grisoft's way of matching Norton in sucktitude. Avast makes me happy so far, but do some research on it for yourself.

I'm going to try out Avast. Any other suggestions for free antivirus software for Windows?
