Help me find an unpopular bar.

Please recommend a bar in lower Manhattan that is not loud and not crowded.

I work near the federal building and the courthouses. My co-workers and I recently lost our after-work spot. We need a replacement nearby that is

1) not loud (we like to hear each other talk),
2) not crowded (we like to settle in at a table for a spell),
3) not expensive, and
4) has decent bar food.

Hip and trendy are pretty much the opposite of what we want, since those places tend to be crowded, loud, and expensive.

Jeremy's Ale house? Crowds are sort of hit and miss, but the friend seafood is nice, and the beer comes in big gulp sized styrofoam cups. It's on Front Street, 1 block south of the Brooklyn Bridge

I've been to Odea early on weekdays and it is pretty empty. They have good mojitos. But leave before 9:30 if you want to avoid the d-bags.

I'll second Jeremy's. That place has a lot of character. Definitely try it out, because it's something of an experience. Really a firemen's place.
