Question: wither the cheap eats?

Please recommend good Happy Hour locations in and around Palo Alto, CA.

I recently moved. Happy Hour dining was a staple of my Seattle diet. I'm looking for good deals on food and a cheap glass of drinkable red wine. But I'll take any and all suggestions. Thanks.

British Banker's Club (BBC) apparently has a happy hour; I have no idea what that entails though, I haven't been there in quite a while.

The Rose & Crown? I don't remember if they have wine, tho.

Maybe a few of the restaurants on California Ave?

F&A's just off University (Fanny and Alexander's), if it's still in that name.
Rudy's (Rudyard's) on University at High Street for a "hipper" crowd (that's "hipper in quotes"), no food.
Blue Chalk on (umm) Ramona (?) has better food.
Beppo's across from BluChalk has food for groups, and red wine by the flagon.

The BBC has always been a pickup/poseur joint, in my experience.
Rose&Crown has fried food and darts.
Antonio's Nut House is blue collar-y and interesting.

Check out Buck's Restaurant in Woodside for badly mixed drinks and goodish food.
The Dutch Goose on Alameda de las Pulgas in Menlo Park and The Oasis are also both local classics with cheap food and peanut shells on the floor (as is Antonio's).
