Question: RV Camping in Joshua Tree

RV Camping in Joshua Tree - Campground/Camping Suggestions...

A group of us want to go to Joshua Tree Nat'l Park for some non-roughing-it camping and bouldering. Our plan is to rent an RV, find a good campground and hike around, do some bouldering, and have a nice relaxing few days to ourselves. Some campsites at Joshua Tree have some restrictions as far as RVs go, none of them have "hookups" but a couple of them have "dumping stations". We have no experience RV camping, so any suggestions would be really helpful. The trip is tentatively scheduled for May. Any favorite activities, campgrounds, words of warning, etc?

I've camped at Joshua Tree on average twice a year for the last decade at several different sites. Going there the weekend after next, actually. My favorite campground is Indian Cove.

I've never brought an RV to the Park, but the well-designed tent sites there offer more privacy than those of the other campgrounds, and lots of good scrambling is right at hand.

Indian Cove is very nice. My favorite sites are 78, 79, and 80, I think. We've camped there a bunch with a small pop up trailer. I also like the Jumbo Rocks area, and in fact, think it might be a hair more fun as far as rock scrambling goes. You can make reservations at Indian Cove but not Jumbo Rocks.
