Question: How to tile a bathroom?

I'm doing my bathroom over with marble for the floor and tub/shower surround area. How do I trim that area around the tub/shower? Like where the marble tile meets the wall? My friend/carpenter guy wants me to get a trim tile but I dont think there is one that goes SPECIFICALLY with this 12" by 12" marble I'm picking up at home depot... Help I dont want it to be ugly?

You can bullnose it yourself, with the right tools but they can be expensive. If you can, call up your local contractor or subcontractor (NOT ColorTile or something similar, look for smaller guys) and try to talk them into doing it for you. It'll cost you some money, but you can still install it yourself then, and you'll have custom caps!

The other option of course is run the tile to the edge of the wall (assuming your shower sits in an alcove or some such) and then grout the end. This will also look fine and will probably be cheaper if you don't have much distance to cover.
Surf Google images for an approach that matches your situation or visit a small scale tile retailer who will have samples and advice. "Nothin new under the sun", you only have to step into the light.

The definitive source for tile questions is at the John Bridge tile forums, where your answer can almost certainly be found with enough searching. Try using google with the site: specifier to search them, too (the site's search implementation isn't stellar)
