What's your favorite video projector?

2 questions:

1)
Who are the gold standard companies with portable video projectors?

2)
Which specific projector do you recommend with the following needs (needed in the following order):
1) Less than $1100
2) color accurate (I will use it to display art)
3) Super bright (will be used in a gallery with windows)
4) reasonably portable (smaller is better, but doesn't have to be the smallest ever)

Best answer: Optoma, Mitsubishi and the higher end Epson projects are fantastic.

For your price range feature needs, I'd say go for the Optoma E1691. It weights three pounds (extremely light), is very high resolution with a variety of inputs, 2500 lumen brightness rating and is pretty small.

Item available here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824219045

That might be overkill though, anything >1500 lumens will work fine in bright rooms if you're projecting to a reasonable size wall/screen.
