Help me find the recipe for the dessert of a lifetime.

Help me find a way to get the actual recipe (not a version of it) for a dessert, Baked Hawaii, that I had at Duke's in Malibu.
My sister and I just had a girls only getaway to LA
While I used to live in Playa del Rey, and had been to Duke's in Malibu before, I always went with friends to 'ocean and sky watch' -- it is so incredible to just chill with an adult beverage on the patio at dusk... ahhhh...
Anyway, this time out of the gates my sister was along for stop into an old fave of mine and wanted to actually eat. Inside. Did I mention that she lives in Kentucky?
Dinner was incredible and even though I am a total chocoholic, when the waitress delivered this cute little cake with ice cream and sauce everywhere to a neighboring table -- I had to try it.
Baked Hawaii -- a warm, individual, pineapple upside down cake (macadamia perhaps)? Covered w/ ice cream (coconut)! and yummy sauce... Rocked my world. Best. Dessert. Eva.
Thing is, I live in the Midwest. There is not a Duke's around. Nor a Hula Shack (owned by the same corp). I asked the waitress if she thought that I could get the recipe and she was actually quite rude about telling me NO. NOWAY. NUT-AH. NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.
That was so a not cool way to reject my inquiry.
Anyway, I have looked all over the Internet and cannot find the actual recipe. All I want to do it make it in my personal, at home kitchen and consume it in my personal at home kitchen.
Can anyone out there give me a power assist?

Best answer: Bon Appetit magazine does this all the time. Though the LA Times might get a quicker turn-around time.

I appreciate the info -- I have found the forum that I can submit my querry to at The LA Times called "Culinary SOS."
If they get the recipe I will post it here, or if you would like me to send it to you -- message me!
