"3-2-3" "2-3-2" "3-3-3"

Looking for a great dentist in Venice beach area or Santa Monica, preferably one who has all the modern technology. Please help!

I had a great dentist in Colorado who had all the newest technology at his disposal for dental work. When I moved to NYC the dentist I had was so-so, and his office seemed straight out of the 50's which kind of made me yearn for the high-tech stuff (I'm thinking primarily of the gum-tracing tools where they chart on computers how much your gum-line as receded, which is what the title of this post is in reference to.) Now that I'm living in West LA, I am looking for someone as good as my Colorado dentist.

Also, big plus if you know that they accept Delta Dental insurance.

Thank you!!

A little south of your chosen area, but he's good: Dr Montgomery in Playa del Rey.

Don't know if they accept Delta (and they're in Brentwood, not Santa Monica), but I can certify that Dr. Allaire at Jay Grossman & Associates does the whole "3-2-3, 3-3-3" thing on your gums. Great dentist.

Unless I'm missing something vital, every dentist can do the 3-2-3 thing with just pen and paper.

I just recently moved away from Santa Monica, but while I lived there I once went to Julian Chen's practice on Montana Ave. I found them on yelp when I moved to the area (http://www.yelp.com/biz/chen-julian-dr-dds-santa-monica). I only went to them once and just for a check-up, so I can't offer a complete endorsement, but I can confirm that they do the "3-2-3" thing on your gums, and enter the information into a computer. Not sure about Delta Dental, and it's worth noting that they're really expensive.

If you're specifically concerned about your gums, you might want to try a periodontist instead of a dentist. That's the only place I've ever heard the "3-2-3" speech, although I have a very high-tech dentist.
