Help me find more electronic covers of old punk songs. April 4, 2008 9:37 AM Subscribe
I have recently found Of Montreal's cover of Where Eagles Dare, and I love it. Can you recommend me some more electronic(kish) covers of old punk songs? I am not looking for anything that is not an electronic(kish) cover of an old punk song.
Please no "Not exactly what you asked for, but..." answers. What I asked for is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks.
Somewhere around there is a live set of Miss Kittin w/ The Hacker and Vitalic doing a cover of the Stooges' "I Wanna Be Your Dog" (if that counts) posted by mkb at 9:41 AM on April 4, 2008
Woops, misread your question, well Atom & His Package is electronic-ish. posted by cloeburner at 9:41 AM on April 4, 2008
On that one Misfits tribute album, Prong does a pretty good "London Dungeon." posted by Sys Rq at 10:00 AM on April 4, 2008
Depending on your definitions of electronic and punk, you might like the compilations of industrial cover versions that Re-Constriction and Cleopatra have released. posted by box at 10:41 AM on April 4, 2008
Moby does a cover of Mission of Burma's "That's When I Reach for My Revolver" on Animal Rights. Whether you consider his version to be elektronika-ish-enough I will leave up to you. It's a hell of a lot harder than the original version and perfect music to listen to while throwing dominoes at a ceiling fan. But that may just be me. posted by Seamus at 11:32 AM on April 4, 2008 [1 favorite]

There's a whole album of Less Than Jake songs remixed as "techno." Oddly, though, they're all of B-Sides. posted by meta_eli at 1:31 PM on April 4, 2008

Also, there is a decent comp of Wire covers (all of Outdoor Miner) that you might like, from Words On Music records. My favorite is the version by Should. posted by mds35 at 3:40 PM on April 4, 2008
