how can i disable ask's april fools prank?
i understand the the slow change of color is an april fools prank but i find it quite irritating. what can i do, aside from wait until tomorrow, to make it stop? i am open to using any of the major browsers.

This post was deleted for the following reason: mefi related posts need to go in metatalk. -- jessamyn
I don't know what you're referring to. (Ack, my monitor's all wonky!)
But, hypothetically, a "slow change in color" on a website would be caused by JavaScript. Firefox + NoScript add-on = no JavaScript execution.

Learn to read
a) the line on the 'Ask a question' form that says 'questions about metafilter/ask should go to metatalk'
b) the open thread on metatalk about this
b)ii) mathowie's comment in that thread pointing you to the link at the bottom of the page called 'Make it stop!' which does exactly what it says on the tin.

not everyone who reads metafilter/ask reads metatalk.

Gah. I assumed the poster was talking about ask.com. For what it's worth, I haven't noticed a slow change in color, just a different color on the "this question has been answered!" check mark.

That doesn't really excuse you from the part of 'questions about metafilter/ask should go to metatalk' though, does it?
