How can I find brand new blogs?

Is there any way I can easily find new blogs? Not new to me but brand new, ones that have been created within the past month, or the past week.

Say I want to find all blogs created in the past month that are about gardening. Is there a way do do this? On Google and Technorati, you can search for recent posts, but not recently-created blogs.

This will get you some usable hits:

1. Go to google, select "Advanced Search"
2. Type in "new blog" in the phrase textbox and "gardening" in the All Words textbox
3. Click the link that begins with "Dates, usage rights" and select "Past month" from the Date dropdown.
4. Scan the results and pick out which posts actually link to a new blog.
