What are some fun things to do/see in Puerto Morelos, Mexico?

Specifically vegetarian-friendly restaurants, nice walks, natural wonders, other things you may have enjoyed on your stay? (we were planning on going to London in May, but after the current drop in $$ value, decided to hold off for a while) Thanks!

I just got back from a couple weeks in Mexico, including five nights in Puerto Morelos. Take the ADO bus from the airport that goes to Playa del Carmen, just tell the guy when you buy your ticket that you want to get off in Puerto Morelos. Costs about 40 pesos each as opposed to a taxi for 500. Then you grab a taxi from the highway 2 1/2 kilometers into PM for around 25 pesos. The Alma Libre bookstore has a list of 12 Cool Things to do in Puerto Morelos, and a restaurant guide. Puerto Morelos is pretty sleepy, but there are plenty of restaurants from which to choose. I can't speak to any vegetarian spots, but I'm sure you'll find something. Talk to Francisco outside the market across from the square when you get to town. He'll give you his Xeroxed restaurant list and map and should be able to tell you who's got good vegetarian fare. He'll tell you how the time share deal works if you want to waste vacation time in a presentation, he has connections for tours and snorkeling, and he's got a brother here in Madison. He's a good guy. Tell him Floydd sent you. He'll have no idea who you're talking about but he'll be helpful anyway. And once you talk to him you're immune from the 2 or 3 other very low key time-share sales folks in PM, so that's a minor bonus. There's a Mayan market on Tuesdays in the colonia which is interesting, it'll cost you around 30 pesos for a cab there. PM is also convenient for day trips to Playa del Carmen, 25 pesos for the cab to the ADO bus on the highway, and another 18 pesos for the bus to PlayaCar. Have fun, enjoy the beach, have a bottle of wine at one of the little tables outside L'Oazis, watch the kids play in the zocalo across the street and talk politics with the Canadian couple at the next table.
I want to go back.
(MeFiMail if you have any more questions)
