What to do with a spare internet connection

What can I do with a spare(slowish) internet connection and wired router?

I have two connections in my house, a 2gb line which is used between 4 people for everyday use and a spare 512mb connection with a wired router which is not used. What can I use my spare connection for (on the cheap) running ubuntu/xp on my laptop with only an external hdd and printer laying around to use.
Any ideas?

Serve up web pages? Run a streaming media server, so you can listen to your tunes from work? Host nightly backups for you and your friends?

You do mean 2mb and 512k, right? Otherwise, can I be your friend?

You can dedicate the slow line to your own DNS server, mail server, web server, streaming media server, *server.

sorry, I do mean 2meg not 2gig (unfortunately) also, I'm a student so when I say cheap I basically mean free!

You could use an aggregating router to combine them.

I'm with Cat Pie Hurts here. Hosting a server of any sorts would be a pretty good use of a spare line.
