Why Wi-Fi Why?

One iPhone. One Zoom X6 ADSL Wireless Router. My Wi-Fi connection to my iPhone keeps dropping in and out. My laptop and workstation do not have any problems with the router, only my iPhone. I have tried to 'Forget the Network', 'Renew the Lease', reset the router, turn off / on Wi-Fi on the iPhone, etc. Too no avail. If I watch the Wifi settings on the iPhone, I can see the ip settings get set, and then disappear, and then set, and disappear again. What is happening here, and how can I fix it?

Do you get a good wifi connection elsewhere?

Does it help any if you turn the phone off and then back on?

Are you using WEP encryption or MAC address filtering on your router?

I had a similar problem and realized that somehow my DNS was set to 192.168.0.1, my router's IP address. After manually clearing that out it works as advertised.
