RealEstateFilter! Anyone have experience owning a single family home (not manufactured/mobile home) on leasehold land, aka "land lease" aka "ground lease"? What are the pitfalls to look out for? How easy was it to get financing and insurance? Is the tax deduction different? Do "community guidelines" become a pretext for neighbors to butt into each others' lives and dip into the collective pocketbooks? Are Indian leases more preferable, less, or not a factor?
