question about the energy star tax credit and whether its ok to claim it this year if I didn't know about it last year

I bought 2 external doors in 2006 that qualify for this tax credit. But I didn't know that at the time, so i didn't claim this on my 2006 taxes. I found out about this this year. Can I claim this on my 2007 taxes or is that just too easy?

You can probably re-state your 2006 tax return.

No, you can't. You would have to re-file your 2006 return.

file an "amended" return with form 1040X, if it's worth the bother. A lot of the credits boil down to pretty small potatoes.
