Restaurant suggestions in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles?

Recommendations for a nice restaurant in the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles, for a group of seven on a Saturday night ?

For this meal, we are interested in upscale restaurants like steakhouses that serve standard fare (so no restaurants emphasizing sushi or international cuisine), with a target price of $50 per person. We will be staying in the Hilton on Canoga. We would also prefer that there not be a long wait for our table. Thanks very much for your suggestions.

Fleming's is close but not all that spectacular and probably more than $50 when you factor in wine and dessert.

Monty's is close as well and more traditional. I haven't been there but it's supposed to quite good.

Otherwise you can hunt around on Chowhound. It all depends on how far you want to go.

I've heard Gorikee is tasty.

Maggianos in the Promenade mall, Erwin at Topanga. Great Italian food. I highly recommend their mushroom ravioli. You can get a family style, all you can eat dinner for under $30 per person. It includes two selections from each category: Salad, appetizer, pasta, main course, dessert. Their spumoni is "to die for." Order a tin of their lemon cookies at the takeout window on your way in (they cook them to order) to take home.

I'll second Monty's, but I suggest you phone first. There's also a Ruth's Chris Steak House ((818) 346-1005‎) at the Topangs Promenade South, and I really like Charlie G's on Ventura in Tarzana ((818) 344-1191), although their prices are a bit steep. Amazing crabcakes, tho'!‎

Thanks for these suggestions. Perhaps I limited us too much in asking for steakhouses and traditional fare. If there's any unique L.A. eatery that is convenient to our location, we'd love to know about it.

Madeleine's is freakin' amazing whether you are a meat-eater (it's a vegan restaurant) or not. Seriously.

So wow, in hindsight the fare is probably the opposite of what you asked for. It's a restaurant you SHOULD eat at once in your life if you have the chance. I'm not affiliated with them at all, I just really like the food :).

I'd just walk down and go to the Cheesecake Factory. But that's just me.

Kate Mantilini's now has a Woodland Hills location (other one is in Beverly Hills). We went there and it was good, if pricey. No wait for a table though we might have called ahead.

My in-laws LOVE Monty's, but...they're in their 70s, and the clientele and menu fit that generation. Which might be good (no surprises) but might also not be what you're looking for.

I had a very good steak at Charlie G's. Up there with Mastro's, and that's saying quite a bit.

We ended up going to Mastro's. Not in Woodland Hills, but it was worth the drive.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
