Aumented Realityfilter- Please, Me-Fites give me your examples of films/video clips of humans with built-in H.U.D.s...?

I've been wracking my brain to find a particular futuristic film i've seen in the last 5 years where the lead character (?) is walking down a street, and experiences a sort of pop-up advert and communication through their in-built heads up display. Any films/clips in this vein would be appreciated.

Well, the obvious choice would be the Terminator, but what you are describing sounds a lot like the shopping scene from Minority Report. Not so much a HUD as retinal targeted advertising.

Here's the clip I was thinking of.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within had several characters with pop-up, HUD-like tools at their disposal, like in this image of the tracking device on her arm.

I'm not sure, but I'd (ask a despised enemy to) watch Johnny Mnemonic and see if it has one.

Are you perhaps thinking of Stranger Than Fiction? Not a science fiction film by any stretch, but the makers did include a sort of "mental HUD" for Will Ferrel's character which illustrated his hyperorganized, obsessive-compulsive nature visually. Here's a clip of the film's intro -- the HUD plays a big part.

Great film, by the way.
