Question: What are some good blogs/sites that are like kottke.org?

I love reading sites like kottke.org and Neatorama (and, of course, Metafilter). It's exciting - I never know what I'll come across next. What are some other sites that have lots of interesting stuff, preferably on a daily basis (but less often is fine as long as the content is high quality)?

I already read Reddit, and I'm not interested in similar link-voting sites. I'm looking for sites that are edited by a group of people (or blogs), with well-written but concise articles.

I also like programming-oriented blogs (like Coding Horror), productivity (Lifehacker, 43 Folders, Zen Habits), and I subscribe to a bunch of feeds from NYTimes and The Economist. I generally love the design-related posts on kottke.org the most. If you have any favorite blogs/sites in these areas, please send them my way!

Headlines section of The Morning News is a twice-daily linkblog. Nice mix of news, interesting, and weird.
Daring Fireball leans heavily towards Apple-related matters but Gruber also writes good general interest posts and does link posts.
I like What I Learned Today because the author digests one or two topics each day into concise packets.
Magnetbox has a great linkblog if you're interested in emerging web technologies, journalism, news and newspapers, and social media.

The Gawker family of blogs is a favorite of mine. I usually peruse:

Gawker (celebrity, news, and socialite content)
Consumerist (customer service horror stories and how to fight corps trying to screw you)
io9 (sci-fi and pop culture!)
This includes the aforementioned Lifehacker, as well.

If you live in or near a city, you could always try a feed from one of the -ists. Gothamist is the parent company/blog for them.

This seems obvious, but Fark is a constantly updated catch-all of ridiculousness. Dark Roasted Blend regularly culls weird and interesting stuff.

Coudal's Fresh Signals generally contains interesting things, but they're generally just links with a line or two of comment rather than articles - it's pretty high-volume.

37Signals' Signal vs. Noise is normally interesting. They have an frequent (weekly?) "Sunspots" feature that links to things, and their "On Writing" (of which there was one yesterday) are normally worth reading.

I'll +1 the Waxy and Daring Fireball reccomendations as well, both are really worth a read.

She is fun and sweet, has interesting things to say, even when our politics diverge, but she is not very political, mostly interesting. My favorite neatorama type sites are:

Telstar Logistics
English Russia
Boing Boing
Dark Roasted Blend
Grow A Brain

Out of these my favorite are the two smaller ones Telstar Logistics (odd findings from around San Francisco) and gCaptain (a blog about large ships) since they are the only ones that have a lot of original writing. NB: gCapt is a site about ships so you sometimes have to dig into the archives to find the neat stuff.
