Question: Insert Inline Image?

How do I inline an image an Outlook 2007? Microsoft Outlook 2007 has three e-mail formats: plain, rich-text, and html. I create a new message of the html type and I want to insert an image, <b>inline</b>, in the text. In other words, I want to get an &lt;IMG&gt; tag in the html of the message. Surely there's a way?

I always just do this: using InternetExplorer, view the image you want, right click on it, and choose &quot;copy&quot;. Then paste it where you want it in your Outlook email message.

Insert &gt; Image (or picture). If you dont have Word 2007 installed (or if it isnt used as your default editor) then you're out of luck.<br>

The link that damn dirty ape presented pretty much described the method Ike_Arumba uses. However, I tested it, and it's sending the whole (encoded) image in the message. I'm trying to get it to insert the image via an &lt;IMG&gt; tag, so the image bits are not part of the message.

That may not be possible. Outlook doesnt allow editing of html (the only way I know how to do this). Ironically, Outlook Express does.

You can write the html elsewhere and import it into the Outlook message. In the Insert File dialog you'll see that the Insert File button has a menu attached under which is the option Insert as Text. This will insert the html directly into the message.

figment, I don't see anything in Outlook 2007 that looks like what you're talking about. Maybe I'm blind. But are you sure you're not talking about a different version?
