Help me find this tshirt manufacturer

I am in search of a specific Northern California tshirt supplier that makes super soft 100% cotton baby doll shirts.

I have a promotional tshirt for Astrogaming headsets that I love to death. It is 100% cotton but incredibly soft, thin but durable, not see through, doesn't stretch out, doesn't shrink, fairly dog hair repellant, and cut very nicely to be form fitting but not tight. It is, in short, the perfect tee and I would like to get more without a company logo. The sad thing is that the company refuses to disclose the manufacturer of the shirt. I have emailed and called and was told only that it is a local supplier (the company is based in San Francisco) that is "like American Apparel." Of course, the problem is that it is not like American Apparel, or Bella, or Gap, Target, Jcrew, Splendid, Banana Republic, James Perse, C&C, or any other shirt brand I have tried. There is no tag on the shirt and the interior printing is specific to Astrogaming.

I am sure that there are a $40+ t-shirts that would fit the bill, but by all indications, these are under $20 each. Do you know somewhere that fits the bill?

(This is the link to the style of the shirt, but it's not exactly informative. FWIW the one I have is the mech logo, not the unicorn.)

Maybe when they say the company is "like American Apparel," they mean that the kinds of products it sells are like American Apparel's, not that the products are of the same quality. (Like, they sell all cotton stuff and it's all manufactured in the U.S.)

Zpousman, it looks like Alternative Apparel is based in Georgia.

Have you tried anything by Anvil, specifically the semi-sheer crewneck tee (style 379)? It seems to have many of the features of the shirt on the Astrogaming site, including cap sleeves and double-needle finishing on the sleeve. It seems to be a big brand so any reputable supplier in CA probably has them.

You can buy them on Amazon also.

If you do figure it out, please come back and tell us the answer!

Response by poster: I found a source for nearly identical tees: the L.L.Bean ultralight pima cap sleeve fitted tee.

I am stunned by the source but the fabric is almost identical. (The mystery tee is a wee bit softer, but same thickness and weave, basically the same fabric with a touch of vintage wash) It runs huge compared to usual baby tees, which I guess is to be expected for LL Bean, I'm usually an L in baby tees but I take a S in this tee. If you do buy it, you should wash before wearing, it comes with some sort of sizing that makes it less soft than the mystery tee but after a wash it's pretty much perfect.

Response by poster: I should add that the white and lighter colors actually are pretty sheer due to the thinness of the fabric, despite what I said in the original question. The darker colors are fine though.
