What other hardware do I need when my stereo is XM Ready?

Car Audio Filter: If I have a Pioneer deck that is "XM ready," what other hardware do I need when subscribing to XM Radio? The more basic, the better. And will I need a professional to connect this stuff to my existing deck? Thanks!
The XM tuner will often be set up within your dash, behind your radio, and will be invisible.
Will you need a professional? If you have to ask, then yes.

"Ready" is car-audio-speak for "buy extra adapters." In your case, you need either:
A: This and this
or
B: This
Which one you need depends on the model of your radio, but either option should run about $100 and able to be purchased at your favorite retailer/etailer.
It doesn't take a professional to install, but running the antenna properly (which means outside the car) can be tricky. Professional installation should run in the $50 range.

You don't have to have a pro do it, but routing the antenna to the outside can be tricky, especially from behind the head unit.
