Anybody know how to remove trojan downloader "a.doginhispen.com?

It seems to re-appear and redirect my IE7 to this site, then I have a DOS to IE7. I removed it once (don't remember how exactly) but it keeps coming back. I just did a backup of key files awaiting the next attack. I'm computer literate, but this has me stumped. All the Googing I've done just puts me to either bogus sites or support forums that I do not trust. Any suggestions?

Have you been to the HiJack This forums? They've helped me out a couple of times, and rescued a computer that was virtually unusable. Read the directions on what to do to use the forums. It's really easy.

I would recommend giving superantispyware a try. There's a free version that recently worked for me. I had a trojan that AVG, Spybot S&D and AdAware couldn't permanently get rid of, but this this program nixed it. (Spybot S&D could see it, but couldn't get rid of it).

CCleaner is not an anti-malware tool. Though it is great for other purposes.

The HijackThis forums are a great place to start. The programs HiJackThis and Spybot are also very good tools to aid you in removing this trojan.

I've also helped someone here on AskMefi recently on a similar issue (as this is the type of work I do all the time so I've gotten quite good at it). If the HJT forums don't look appealing refer to this previous ask.mefi post for advice.

The main thing to keep in mind with downloaders (trojans) is that they will come with friends. So you may have several installs to clean out. Spybot should do a great job getting most or all of it, but for anything that still lingers you'll need to use APM (linked in the thread above) to remove resident DLLs stuck in memory.

If you get stuck at any point feel free to post your HijackThis logs here too and I can help you identify a way to remove it as well as any spyware that piggybacked along. I'll keep an eye on this thread for a couple days. Good luck!
