Why does youtube, dailymotion, myspace and other medias work on some websites but not on others?

I'm not sure if this is a problem I'm having with firefox or not but I can't watch online videos. It's a weird problem that just appeared. Blogs that I've been watching videos on for a while just started acting up so I'm thinking it's a problem with my computer.

Problems include: Color substituted for a grey scale and looking very "digitalized", lack of audio, pausing at the 2 second mark.

thoughts?

Did you install an ad blocker plugin?

Response by poster: I did not install a 3rd party plug-in adblocker, but firefox comes with a built in ad-blocker.

Best answer: I had this problem a few days ago -- videos would pause at two seconds, and other forms of embedded media lacked sound. This happened with Firefox only, and restarting the browser did nothing (rebooting fixed it temporarily, though). The problem turned out to be with Flash, and from what I read, it's looking like a widespread issue. Downgrading to an earlier version of Flash fixed it for me.
