Question: What's the Sabbath Song in Beaufort?

I recently saw the movie Beaufort (homepage)(IMDB). Does anyone know the name (or have music for, or best a recording of, or link to where I can purchase a recording of) the Sabbath song sung in the film?

This reignited a longerstanding desire to find a good recording of such songs... I'd prefer something rougher like in the movie or ethnographic rather than cantorial. Any suggestions?

I don't know if this pertains to the same song you're referencing, but just in case:

song that shpitzer sings with the keyboard -is it a song i can find somewhere? anyone know the name of the song?

The song is called "Avot u-Banim" (א×'ות ו×'× ×™×; Fathers and Sons), by Eviatar Banai (א×'יתר ×'× ××™), Track 12 on his 1997 debut album. You can probably get this in some Israeli music stores, or through any questionably-legal method you might think appropriate ;) (I think you'll need to change your browser encoding to UTF-8 to see the Hebrew characters)
Ooh... I wasn't able to turn up anything besides the soundtrack, but that's not the one I'm looking for. I want the song that all the soldiers sing in the mess hall... The lyrics include something like "welcome sabbath" so it's definitely a sabbath song.

ooh, that is lecha dodi.

As I'm certain wikipedia will tell you, it is a traditional friday night song with LOTS of different traditional melodies. I dont remember which they used in the movie, but it was definitely a traditonal one. There are some audio files linked on the wikipedia page.

or

you can try a youtube search for lecha dodi
