GourmetFilter: Where in Manhattan might one purchase ostrich eggs?
I need them for Halloween an omlette recipe.

Saw'em do those on Iron Chef. Wolfgang Puck v Morimoto. Very strange; Morimoto almost needed a chainsaw to prep one.

You might try emu eggs instead, if the recipe isn't specific. They're essentially massive chicken eggs with pretty green shells.

Call Gourmet Garage and Balduchi's in SoHo - if they don't have them, they will probably know who does. I have seen Ostrich on plenty of menus here in the city.

I'd go Dean & Deluca before Gourmet Garage for rare foods.
