mariachi band needed in los angeles

Has anyone hired a marachi band from mariachi plaza in los angeles? I have the sudden need for a mariachi band tomorrow night.

Ok you can't just post that without telling us where your sudden need came from and what you need the band for.

Response by poster: I had to cancel the experimental dance piece involving medieval knights at my gallery because there was a problem with the insurance for renting the props, and since boing boing linked to the event I figured I'd better provide some entertainment in case people showed up anyway. So, Mariachis.

My dad lives across the way - his neighbors are mariachis. They seem like nice people for what it is worth... I don't think you will be disappointed.

Response by poster: I went to Mariachi plaza with a friend who spoke Spanish, and it was very easy, we talked to the first person we saw, and hired a 6 piece group. We paid $300/hour for an hour and a half. They had 2 violins, 2 trumpets, a big guitar and a little guitar. They were great! And loud!
