Looking for a good sports bar in Austin.

Going to be in Austin,Texas on Sunday during theSuperbowl. I'm from New England and a.) looking for a good bar to watch the game, and/or wondering if there are any places that may be filled with expat Pats fans.

Not really a raging sports fan, but would like any enjoyable place to watch the game in a semi laid back way with other Patriot fans (or at least some).

Champions is pretty good.

Also, it seems like everywhere you go there are Boston fans. It's terrible.

The Tavern is my favorite sports bar and an Austin tradition. No clue about who'll be there watching the game, though.

the best bar in austin, and my favorite place in the world, is the draught house. i cannot promise there will be pats fans, as they are the devil.

Apparently Little Woodrows on 6th was a good Red Sox watching bar (so says Sons of Sam Horn - I can not personally vouch.) It would stand to reason that a Red Sox friendly place would become a Pats friendly place.

Failing a definite answer beforehand: when you get to town, pick up a weekly paper called the Austin Chronicle. It comes out on Thursdays and is distributed free all over town in stands. Scan the ads. If a bar has ties to a non-Texas team, they'll often advertise it prominently and invite the expats to gather, especially before a big game. Examples that come to mind: the Shoal Creek Tavern on Lamar is or was owned by a NOLA native so he made a big deal out of Saints games, and Abel's on West Campus used to be owned by a guy from Wisconsin and was Packers headquarters on Sundays.
